Cold weather today, depression to bring rainy conditions Thursday night
A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, marking 4-6 degrees above annual average and bringing relatively cold weather in most parts of the Kingdom, while it will be pleasant in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Clouds will appear at high altitudes with southwesterly moderate winds, the JMD added.
On Thursday, colder temperatures will prevail with clouds at high and medium altitudes. At night, the Kingdom will be affected by a depression centered over Cyprus, bringing rain in the northern regions, gradually extending to the central and eastern parts.
A significant drop in mercury levels is forecast on Friday, with heavy downpours accompanied by thunder storms in the northern and central regions.
Light snowfall is also expected in high mountainous areas, with westerly strong winds exceeding 60 km/h in some areas.
