During a wide-ranging interview with Ammonnews, Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh said that there is a peace agreement between Jordan and Israel, which was endorsed by Jordan Lower House as a law.
There is a Jordanian embassy in Israel and an Israeli embassy in Amman. This is the reality today, which is part of the framework of international affairs system, PM said.
With regards to the relationship between Jordan and Israel, Al-Khasawneh stated that Jordan always develops the relationship in a way that serves our interests and the interests of our central causes including the Palestinian cause.
Jordan also strives to maintain the historical situation in the Al-Aqsa holy Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif and work hard to reproduce political dialogue, which would ultimately lead to the two-state solution, PM stated.
This will result in the recognition of the Palestinian State with full sovereignty on the 1967 lines, and East Jerusalem as its capital, stating that this would also take into account the Jordanian vital interests, which are related the issue of refugees and maintaining the current historical situation in the Al-Aqsa holy Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif and the fact that His Majesty King Abdullah continues to hold the Hashemite custodianship of Al-Aqsa holy Mosque and Jerusalem holy sites, Al-Khasawneh explained.
