Jordan exports medicine to 73 countries, food to 100 others
Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Director General Nizar Mhaidat said Monday that Jordanian foodstuffs and pharmaceutical products are reliable in foreign markets due to their competitiveness and quality that meets international standards.
Jordanian pharmaceuticals are exported to 73 countries worldwide, and food items had also hit the market in 100 countries, Muheidat said in a statement.
In remarks during a visit to the United Company for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies (UCPMS), one of MS Pharma companies, Mhaidat said that Jordanian drug legislation is highly recognised by many world countries.
UCPMS director Nidal Khleifat commended JFDA support of the national drug industry, and its efforts to deregulate and speed up the registration of medicines as well as reaching out to drug makers.
The visit is one in a series by the JFDA to check up on the manufacturing process and the needs of drug production facilities and possible government support for them.
