Head of the Jordanian-European Parliamentary Friendship Association, MP Khaldoun Hina, stressed the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem's Al-Quds Al-Sharif, reviewing the 'unwavering' stances of His Majesty King Abdullah II towards the Palestinian cause, and restoring momentum to it.
Speaking during the meeting on Wednesday, with the Polish ambassador to Jordan, Lucjan Karpinski, Hina pointed to the importance of the Jordanian-Polish relations, calling for strengthening trade and economic relations between the two friendly countries, especially amid the 'difficult' circumstances facing the Kingdom due to Covid-19 pandemic and facilitating entry of Jordanian goods into Poland.
The association's members, in turn, stressed the importance of the Hashemite custodianship of holy sites in Jerusalem, urging Poland to support the King's positions in finding a solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
The lawmakers also stressed the need to strengthen trade, economic and parliamentary relations between the countries, calling for transferring the Polish experience in water technology, increasing cultural exchange and benefiting from Jordan's investment environment.
Karpinski, for his part, said the Polish-Jordanian relations are 'solid, deep-rooted' since 1964, which were established by the two countries' leaderships, and are witnessing a 'continuous' development.
The envoy stressed his country's support for Jordan's role towards the Palestinian cause under the King's leadership, the custodian of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Al-Quds Al-Sharif, by finding a just and comprehensive peace that ends the conflict in the Middle East.
The diplomat also referred to the reform programs led by His Majesty in all fields.
Presenting the various cooperation mechanisms with the Kingdom in the economic, commercial and water sectors, he noted that his country supports Jordan in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
