The President of the University of Jordan, Dr Abdel-karim Al-Qudah and Turkish ambassador to Jordan, Ismail Aramaz on Thursday discussed the academic and cultural cooperation between the two sides.

Al-Qudah stressed the deep-rooted relations between Jordan and Turkey especially within higher education sector and student exchange programs, hoping to develop cooperation further in the future.

For his part, Aramaz said that there is a common history of joint cooperation between the university of Jordan and the Turkish embassy in Amman built on many achievements and common issues, hoping to expand this joint cooperation between the university and the Turkish embassy.

Aramaz also explained that Jordan became the number one destination in the region for Turkish students and officials who would like to learn Arabic language.

During the meeting which was attended by Vice President for Scientific schools Dr Kifah Jamani and President's assistant for international program and Marketing, Dr Zaid Obaidat and the director of international affairs unit, Dr Hadeel Yaseen, the two sides reviewed the relations between the University of Jordan and Turkish higher education institutions and common issues.

Aramaz also visited the center for strategic studies at the University of Jordan and met with its director, Dr Zaid Eyadat in the presence of a number of researchers.

The two sides discussed the mission of the center, ways of possible cooperation and political situation in the region.
