Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh Monday welcomed Secretary-General of the Islamic Fiqh Academy Qoutoub Moustafa Sano at a meeting attended by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalaileh.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for concerted efforts by all religious institutions in the Islamic world to clarify the true image of Islam as a religion of love and tolerance and counter anti-Islamic campaigns and false accusations against the faith.
He pointed to the key and leading role of the Islamic Fiqh Academy in promoting harmony and closing the ranks of the Muslim world.
Sano said that the Jeddah-based Islamic Fiqh (Jurisprudence) Academy is an intellectual and religious scientific institution and the Shariah (Islamic law) arm of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference.
He said the academy endeavours to spread the culture of moderation and non-violence, noting it has issued about 238 decisions and recommendations to the 57 member states of the organisation, including one on the necessity to take the anti-coronavirus vaccine.
