JHCO, KSRelief complete distribution of 16,550 food baskets in Palestine
The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), in cooperation with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief), has completed distribution of 16,550 food baskets during the holy month of Ramadan to poor families in Palestine.
In a press statement issued Wednesday, the JHCO said selection of the target families benefiting from this project was carried out in coordination with Palestinian associations and civil society institutions in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
JHCO Secretary General, Hussein Shibli, said the food basket consists of 14 basic food items that cover the family needs in Ramadan, in an effort to support the brotherly Palestinian people, in light of their 'difficult' conditions.
For his part, KSRelief Director in Jordan, Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Hazim, said Ramadan food baskets distribution project in Palestine is an embodiment of Saudi Arabia's 'humanitarian' role in supporting all the needy people worldwide through KSRelief, which spares no effort to provide aid to those in need, adding that the cost of the relief project amounted to $1 million.
