Prince Mired, Amman mayor discuss accessibility for people with disability
HH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), and Mayor of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Committee Yousef Shawarbeh, discussed issues of mutual interest to the two institutions.
Discussions highlighted the importance for the GAM Law to include items that guarantee the rights of people with disabilities and their accessibility to services, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Prince Mired commended the close cooperation and continuous coordination with GAM, describing the relation between the two institutions as “a model and best practice” in joining efforts. Shawarbeh praised the level of coordination and exchange of technical expertise between the municipality and the council, stressing that accessibility has become a main requirement in GAM-implemented projects.
