Senate President, Faisal Fayez, and Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, affirmed their keenness to maintain cooperation, coordination and true partnership between the executive and legislative authorities, and work in an 'integrated' manner to serve the country and the citizen.
In a meeting held on Thursday, the premier and Fayez affirmed keenness to maintain channels of cooperation and complementarity between the government and the Upper House to serve the country and the citizen within the Constitution's framework governing work of the two authorities.
Speaking during the meeting, Fayez affirmed commitment to the Royal visions to develop legislation that regulates political life, foremost are laws related to election, political parties and local administration, in addition to launching a national dialogue to reach consensus on the bills.
On the discussions, Fayez said emphasis was placed on the importance of economic, political and social development, comprehensive reform, and strengthening and advancing role of public administration.
Fayez said the meeting also tackled the Kingdom's current epidemiological situation and the need to take all necessary measures to protect society and preserve the citizen’s health, taking into account the importance to maintain economic activity and protect the citizens' livelihoods, in the government's decisions.
For his part, Khasawneh stressed the need to develop legislation governing political life to meet the citizens' hopes and aspirations.
