Police in the northern governorate of Irbid on Sunday evening arrested a groom and a wedding planner for violating defense orders by holding a wedding party, attended by more than 100 people.
Irbid Governor, Radwan Atoum, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that relevant agencies were tipped off about a wedding party that is being held in a farm in the east of Irbid and went to the location and stopped the party.
He pointed out that the committee's report on the scene confirmed that more than 100 people have gathered in the party, which violates defense orders on prohibiting gatherings of more than 20 people, stressing that there will be no tolerance with regard to enforcing defense orders related to combating Covid-19.
