Eddie Hearn promises Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight ‘will happen’
The much-anticipated bout appears to be drawing closer.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has assured boxing fans that the fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will go ahead - and he laid clear his belief that the former will emerge victorious.
Discussions over the planned event have been ongoing for some time, with recent reports mixed over whether there had been progress or not.
Fury claimed that Joshua’s camp had done nothing in to make the fight happen, saying “we’re no further forward today than we were a year ago”, but Joshua, referring to himself as the “boss”, told Sky Sports this week that the aim was for a June date for the duo to meet.
Now, Hearn has explained how discussions have been ongoing and that the end result would leave Fury without any excuses.
“When you hear it from the boss - and he is the boss - that’s when it’s on. And what you heard is you heard it from the boss.”
Joshua is the WBA, WBO and IBF champion, while Fury holds the WBC title.
