JACC prosecutor apprehends four people on forgery charges
The Public Prosecutor of Jordan Anti-Corruption Commission (JACC) decided on Wednesday, to detain two customs officers, a clearance company agent and Zarqa Free Zone worker for 15 days in the Juwaida Correction and Rehabilitation Center pending investigation.
In a press statement, a JACC source said today the detainees were charged with forgery, and abuse of work powers to counterfeit official documents.
The suspects, according to their respective roles, forged papers of a cigarette production line machine, alleging the equipment is used in packaging processes, and sought to finish customs clearance from the free zone on this basis, the source added.
