EMRC deals with 3851 power failures due to heavy rainfall, snowfall countrywide
The number of power failures countrywide during last 48 hours that witnessed a polar front, reached 3851, of which 3773 or 98 per cent were dealt with, Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) Chief Commissioner Hussein al-Labboun said in a statement on Friday.
He said the current weather conditions have pushed electrical load to 3375 megawatts, down from 3630 in the same period last year.
Al-Labboun commended the role implemented by the EMRC technical teams during the polar front, stressing that the electrical system has witnessed stability with regard to electrical loads.
