Interior minister mandates officials to detect health violations countrywide
Minister of Interior Samir Al-Mobaideen on Tuesday chaired a meeting with administrative governors, leaders of security services and a number of officials, during which they discussed the procedures of self-quarantining and applying preventive measures in accordance with the approved health protocol.
The minister instructed administrative governors, Public Security officers and representatives of the Health Ministry to randomly visit the self-quarantined in order to verify the extent of their commitment, as those who are not will be charged of violating the Defense Order.
'The violators will be referred to a field hospital to complete the quarantine period at their own expense, and then will face imprisonment terms of up to three years, a fine of JD3,000 or both penalties, in accordance with the provisions of Defense Order No. 8 of 2020,' a statement by the ministry said.
In order to deter violators and fulfill the desired goal of issuing Defense Orders, the Minister also instructed governors to carry out extensive field inspection campaigns on shops and facilities, indicating that in the event of closing any facility, it’s name and address will be officially announced on media platforms.
