The Cabinet has decided, in its session held on Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister, Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, to renew expired medical insurance cards automatically for public employees and retirees, who pay insurance sums monthly, effective until April 30, 2021.
The decision also renews the expired health insurance cards automatically for the over 60 years old elderly, beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund (NAF), the social safety net, and poor families, until April 30, 2021.
According to the decision, the beneficiaries don't need to visit public offices to issue and renewe health insurance cards for all the above-covered categories.
In the same context, the decision has also automatically renewed expired medical exemptions for Jordanian patients with chronic kidney failure, as well as dialysis and cancer patients from Gaza Strip, per the set date.
On the other hand, the Cabinet has approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Jordan's Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Transport, Telecommunications and Technology, in the fields of information technology, telecom and postal services, aimed to exchange information and expertise in related areas.
Moreover, the Cabinet has endorsed a MoU with the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina on youth cooperation.
