140 Palestinian detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons have tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19), a Palestinian official announced.
The Israeli Occupation Detention Authority closed section 18 of the Negev Prison on suspicion of having a detainee infected with Covid-19, Media Advisor to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Hassan Abd Rabboh said in a statement.
He demanded the international community to undertake its moral responsibility based on the Fourth Geneva Convention, to hold the occupation authorities responsible for the lives and health of detainees, calling on international human rights institutions to intervene to save the lives of detainees in the occupation prisons.
