Lower House of Parliament Speaker, MP Abdel Moneim Odat, on Monday underlined the house ’s absolute support for the judiciary and that it would provide all means that guarantee its independence.
In a meeting with President of the Judicial Council, Mohammad Ghazo, Odat expressed pride in the reputation of the just and impartial Jordanian judiciary, which constitute the key pillar for establishing the rule of law.
The meeting emphasized on the Lower House of Parliament's support for the judiciary in order to achieve an integrative role in the national public interest.
Odat said that protecting citizens and consolidating the rules of justice and equality are firm principles in the royal approach, and His Majesty emphasized them in his speech from the throne, 'and we are all confident today in the ability of the judiciary to live up to these responsibilities.'
Ghazo, who also President of the Court of Cassation, stressed the importance of coordination and consultation between the legislative and judicial authorities, in terms of improving any legislation that contributes to strengthening the rule of law, highlighting the judiciary's actions and procedures, especially with regard to the issue of rapidity of litigation procedures.
