Ammon News - Minister of Irrigation and Water Motasem Saidan and EU Ambassador to Jordan Maria Hadjitheodosiou held a meeting in Amman on Wednesday for a discussion on carrying forward water projects, including building dams.
Saidan highlighted that the Ministry is keen on leveraging the expertise of the EU on water projects, highlighting that the water sector's strategic plan has been modified and readapted in light of the current developments, especially in terms of promoting the already established partnership with the private sector, and developing investment programs.
He praised EU member states for their support for Jordan's water sector, expressing his hope for the support to be drummed up to allow the Ministry to implement projects in the Kingdom on the way of achieving water security.
In turn, Hadjitheodosiou said that the EU will place its expertise at the disposal of the sector and will provide available support to help it overcome challenges.
