IMF to revise Jordan's growth forecast for October
AMMONNEWS - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission chief for Jordan Ali Abbas said Tuesday that the fund will take into account new data Jordan issued while revising the October 2020 IMF World Economic Outlook.
In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Tuesday, Abbas said: 'The macroeconomic forecast for Jordan published in the October 2020 IMF World Economic Outlook (including -5% real GDP growth for 2020) is being revised in the context of the ongoing virtual staff mission for the 1st review of the Extended Fund Facility.'
'In revising its forecast, the IMF team will take into account new information, including recently published data from Jordan’s Department of Statistics that point to better-than-expected GDP growth in the second quarter of 2020,' he added.
