Adaileh : We face great challenge that requires preserving our health ecosystem
AMMONNEWS - Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, said that the Corona Crisis Cell held Tuesday a meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, during which 'a set of difficult and quick decisions' were taken to limit the rise in the Covid-19 infections, according to the developments of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom.
In a briefing held in the Prime Ministry, Adaileh said the decisions that were taken has balanced between preserving the health and safety of citizens on one hand, ensuring the continuity of work for most sectors on the other, and limiting - as much as possible - of the impacts that may result from them.
He pointed out that the Kingdom has seen a significant acceleration in the rate of Covid-19 infections during the past days, as the caseload reached unprecedented levels, along with a noticeable increase in the number of deaths.
'This is what we didn't hope for, and it is what we constantly warned against, as it requires making difficult decisions,' Adaileh emphasized.
'The hike in infections poses a great pressure on our health ecosystem, which is still able to absorb this level of infections, thanks to the efforts made since the start of the pandemic, during which work has been made to develop our health ecosystem, enhance it and enable it to keep pace with the worst case scenario,' the minister underlined.
He added: 'But today we are facing a great challenge, and a responsibility that requires preserving this ecosystem, and keeping it able to withstand the current epidemiological situation, therefore it is our duty to make decisions that help us limit - as much as possible - the spread of the pandemic and flatten the epidemic curve in order to keep things under control.'
He called on everyone to fully adhere to wearing masks, physical distancing, maintaining hygiene and sterilization procedures, and preventing gatherings that violate defense orders.
