Scorching heatwave to temporarily taper off over the next two days
AMMONNEWS - Director of the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) , Raed Al Khattab, said the sizzling heatwave will temporarily taper off over the next two days, and mercury levels will slightly nationwide.
Temperatures are tipped to to the mid-thirties in the capital, Amman, but a rise will happen again as of next Tuesday, to range between 37C- to 38C degrees in the capital, to the weekend, he announced.
On Saturday, a slight in temperatures is forecast, with the weather remaining relatively hot in the highlands, and sizzling in the Kingdom's other regions, according to the JMD report.
During afternoon hours, there is a 'weak' chance for scattered rain showers in the Kingdom's eastern regions, which may be ocassionally thundery, and the winds will be northwesterly moderate, picking up at times and causing dust, especially in desert areas, added the JMD.
In Amman, temps are forecast to hover around 36C degrees today, dropping to 23C during night hours, while the Dead Sea, and the Gulf of Aqaba, will see a scorching 39C, 40C, respectively, sliding to 27C during nighttime.
