AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita on Tuesday discussed over the telephone regional developments, with a focus on the Palestinian issue and efforts to reach a political solution to the Libyan crisis.
According to a statement, the ministers also discussed prospects for increasing cooperation in the various fields, and stressed the continuation of endeavours 'to translate the historical relations between the two sister kingdoms into broader cooperation and continued coordination and consultation.'
On the Palestinian issue, they reiterated that the two-state solution, which embodies the setting up of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of international law, international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative, is the only path to solve the conflict and achieve a just and comprehensive peace.
Safadi also valued Morocco's efforts and its hosting of the Libyan dialogue sessions in the Moroccan city of Bouznika to reach political accord on a solution between the Libyan parties that safeguards the unity, stability and security and the security of its neighbors, and preserves its sovereignty and territorial integrity and fends off foreign interference in its affairs.
He affirmed Jordan's support of all efforts to solve the Libyan crisis politically and fulfill the aspirations of its people.
