73 new Covid-19 cases, including 67 local infections, recorded on Sunday
AMMONNEWS - The Ministry of Health announced 73 new Covid-19 cases, including 67 local infections, were recorded in the Kingdom on Sunday, bringing the total caseload since the outbreak of the pandemic to 1966.
Among the new 67 local cases, 61 were registered in the Capital Amman governorate (56 infections to contacts with already infected persons, 5 cases under investigation), and 6 in Balqa governorate to known contacts, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
Moreover, the 6 imported infections involve 5 arrivals coming from Saudi Arabia residing in quarantine hotels, and 1 to a Jordanian truck driver coming from Al-Omari Border Crossing, added the joint government statement.
Meanwhile, 22 patients have recovered, including 16 in Prince Hamzah Hospital, and 6 in Queen Alia Hospital, noted the ministry.
9110 lab Covid-19 tests were administered today, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the start of the pandemic until now to 819171, said the ministry.
Amid the continuing uptick in the local infections, the ministry called on the public to adhere to Defense Order No. (11), follow safety and prevention standards, wear face masks, shun holding gatherings exceeding 20 people, and use the 'Aman' and 'Your Health' apps.
