The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said the heat on Wednesday and Thursday will be a brief summery burst in the mountains and plains, while significantly hot temperatures will prevail in other parts of the country, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.
A return to cooler weather will take effect on Friday as mercury levels slightly drop, bringing moderate conditions countrywide with the same wind direction.
In the capital Amman today, temperatures will hover around 34 degrees Celsius during the daytime and 20 degrees at night. Meanwhile, highs in the port city of Aqaba will hit a sweltering 42 degrees, sliding to 27 at night.
