Six new Covid-19 cases, including 5 local infections, recorded on Sunday
AMMONNEWS - The Ministry of Health announced 6 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Sunday, including 5 local infections, bringing the total caseload to 1252.
The new cases involve 3 cases to contacts of infected people in the northern governorate of Irbid, and 2 cases to contacts of a Covid-19 patient in the governorate of Mafraq, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The imported case involve an arrival from Algeria who is currently at a designated quarantine hotel, added the statement.
Meanwhile, 9 additional patients have recovered in the designated quarantine areas at the Dead Sea, it announced.
5925 laboratory tests were administered today, bringing the total tests conducted since the beginning of the pandemic so far to 646,473, it noted.
This week would see an announcement to activate Defense Order No. 11, 2020 , as local infections were recorded, which asks facilities owners and the public to adhere to the utmost precautionary measures, and imposes penalties on violating entities, the joint statement said.
The Ministry called on citizens to adhere to safety and prevention standards, wear masks, and use the mobile AMAN, and ' Your Health, Sehatek' apps aimed to trace contacts, curb the outbreak and provide virus-related information.
