8 new COVID-19 cases in Kingdom, all came from abroad
AMMONNEWS - Eight new coronavirus cases, all came from abroad, were recorded in Jordan Saturday, raising the caseload since the outbreak in the Kingdom to 1,154, according to the Ministry of Health.
It said in the daily brief by the Prime Ministry and the Health Ministry that the new cases were five who came from abroad (2 from Palestine, 2 from Syria and 1 from Saudi Arabia), who are in quarantine at hotels in the Kingdom, and 3 Jordanian truck drivers who came via the Al Omari border Crossing with Saudi Arabia.
The statement also said 6 COVID-19 patients have recovered, 5 at the Prince Hamza Government Hospital and 1 at the Queen Alia Military Hospital.
It also said that 7,795 lab tests were conducted today, raising to 558,415 the total number of tests since the outbreak began.
The statement warned against any behaviours in violation of public safety and prevention precautions, including gatherings of more than 20 persons, vowing to apply penalties against violators, which are stipulated under the government's defence orders.
It urged compliance with safety procedures, including wearing face coverings, physical distancing and using the Aman and Sehtak safety applications as global infections are rising and 'outbreaks are getting worse in many world and regional countries.'
