Armed Forces complete 2nd phase of evacuation of returning students
AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF), in coordination with security bodies, government agencies and the Queen Alian International Airport management on Monday completed the second phase of evacuating Jordanian students and stranded people returning home from abroad.
The second phase of the plan to evacuate arrivals at the Queen Alia Airport has been finalized, raising the total number of flights that landed in the second phase to 18 from 12 countries, with a total number of 3,572 passengers, according to airports security and protection Director Brig. Gen. Khaled Shantir.
He said that the rest of the phases will be announced later.
'This achievement came after high-level coordination between the JAF units and formations and all the security agencies and state institutions concerned to limit the spread of the coronavirus,' Shantir said.
He said that the armed forces had taken all preventive and precautionary measures within a tight plan that was professionally and skillfully put in place and carried out under the guidance and follow-up of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to ensure the containment and prevention of the virus spread.
