US Charge d’Affaires underscores Jordan-US ‘strategic’ partnership
AMMONNEWS - Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Amman, Henry Wooster, underscored, Wednesday, the importance of supporting Jordan to be a stable and secure country, as he emphasized Jordan-US long-standing strategic partnership.
In an address at the US Congress in Washington, D.C. Wooster said that the US’s priority in Jordan is to help the country’s economy to recover to assure the Kingdom’s stability and security amid regional upheavals caused by the Syrian crisis and its fallout in the region, and the COVID-19 pandemic, which has largely impacted the Kingdom’s economy.
He highlighted that in 2020, Jordan undertook tangible reforms to spur the economy and had allocated a budget to that end, in addition to drawing up a response plan to address the CPVOD-19 pandemic.
