AMMONNEWS - Foreign laborers working in Jordan and wish to leave the Kingdom against the backof the COVID-19 pandemic, will be allowed to leave the Kingdom to their home countries and will be exempt from any labor-related fees and fines.
In the daily briefing at the National Center for Crisis and Security Management (NCSCM), Minister of Labor Nidal Bataineh said on Saturday that expatriate workers who wish to leave to the Kingdom can submit applications via Hemayah.Jo platform, adding that the applications can be filled in both English and Arabic.
Following the completion of the registration process, Bataineh said that the ministry and other stakeholders will process the applications and facilitate the departure of those workers in coordination with their home countries.
In light of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, the minister said any fines and fees related to work permits will be waivered upon leaving the country as they too were impacted by the economic ramifications of the pandemic, adding that those who work illegally will also be included.
