Neighborhood of COVID-19 positive nurse in Irbid will not be isolated
AMMONNEWS - There is no inclination to isolate the neighborhood where the COVID-19 positive nurse lives in Irbid, the governorate’s head of the Epidemiology Committee Ali Al-Zetawi said on Thursday.
Al-Zetawi told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the nurse visited his home at Azmi al-Mufti camp in Irbid for a short period of time, coming from Amman where he works for a private hospital. 'As a reassuring indication, the patient has contacted a limited number of his family members, who will all be isolated along with their contacts,' the official said.
Furthermore, Al-Zaitawi said that 150 samples collected yesterday by the epidemiological investigation teams are being tested, noting that the samples belong to contacts of the infected truck driver and the owners of the shops that he visited, in addition to those who had close contact with him.
'Results of samples taken from 84 people who were the closest to the driver were negative, an indication that the rest of the samples will be negative too,' he added.
