Epidemiological committee recommends isolating hot zones
AMMONNEWS - The National Epidemiological Committee (NEC) recommended isolating any area with increased numbers of cases of infection with COVID-19, including a residential building in the Hashmi Shamali area in Amman.
In a statement to Petra on Sunday, committee Spokesperson, Nazir Obaidat, said the decision to isolate is left to the concerned authorities.
On individuals quarantined in local hotels, Obaidat said an evacuation plan approved this morning will be carried out on Monday, pointing out that it includes strict instructions to preserve their own safety and that of their families.
He stated that clinical tests will be conducted, underlining that no one will be allowed to leave quarantine until the test comes back negative.
Those who are cleared will be given strict instructions to self-quarantine at home for 14 days, to implement social distancing, especially with their families, and to comply with the health and safety conditions and instructions approved by the committee.
On the infected cases, Obaidat said three patients are in intensive care, two of whom are on artificial respiration.
