AMMONNEWS - Minister of Health, Dr. Saad Jaber, Wednesday, confirmed 19 new cases of cronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 172, all of which are hospitalized.
In a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) Jaber pointed out that the 19 cases reported today are as follow: an Iraqi patient who had guests from Iraq, a Jordanian who came from Switzerland on March 11 and eight cases who contracted the disease from a patient in one of the military hospitals, a housekeeper from Sri Lanka is one of the eight cases.
In addition, four cases contracted the virus from a nurse working at the Al-Bashir Hospital in Amman, and five other cases have attended the wedding in the northern city of Irbid.
The Minister said, 'From this platform, I have always used the tone of reassurance because I was reassured and I was counting on each one of you to help us maintain their health and that of others,' stressing that the situation is intolerable.
He quoted from the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II, who addressed Jordanians saying: 'The health is above all considerations,' stressing that this is a royal order for everyone in Jordan, not just for the government.
