State minister for media affairs calls for Arab media effort affects Western societies
AMMONNEWS - State Minister for Media Affairs, Amjad al-Adayleh, called for crystalizing an Arab media effort that aims at affecting the Western societies, and breaking the stereotypical image.
The minister made his remarks as he participated at the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) 2020, held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
Such media efforts, al-Adayleh said, needs to be affiliated with the Arab League, or Mega Arab media institutions, adding that there is no state can do such a huge project alone.
He pointed out that a unified media effort, if achieved, would break the stereotypical image that links extremism and terrorism to Arabs and Muslims.
He also pointed out that the problem experienced by the Arab world is that it receives more than it produces in terms of media content, as evidenced by the increase in numbers of Arabic-speaking foreign media outlets.
