Health Ministry: Chinese employee in Petra tests negative for corona
AMMONNEWS - The Chinese employee working in one of Petra's hotels is not infected with the novel Coronavirus as she tested negative, the Health Ministry confirmed in a statement.
Commenting on news circulated on social media platforms yesterday about transferring a Chinese woman to Amman for examination, the ministry's assistant secretary-general for primary health care, Adnan Ishaq, said the woman came from an Arab country, not from any of the countries where the disease is widespread.
'As a preventive measure, and since the woman had visited China last month and was suffering from some common flu symptoms, she was examined to ensure that she is not infected with the virus,' he added.
He also stressed the importance of following the means of preventing the spread of the infectious disease, and obtaining information only from official sources, represented by the Ministry of Health.
