Islamic World's Awqaf Ministers Conference kicks off
AMMONNEWS - The 12th session of the Executive Council of the Awqaf Ministers’ Conference in the Islamic World 2019 has on Thursday kicked off here with the participation of a number of Arab and Islamic countries.
Deputizing for Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, the Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Mohammed Khalileh, said in the inaugural speech the Israeli practices in Jerusalem represent 'further provocation to the Islamic nation,' adding the holy city's sanctities are transgressed by the Israeli occupiers and extremists.
The conference, he noted, underlines appreciation of the Islamic world for Jordan's key role in the custodianship of Jerusalem's holy sites, aimed to preserve its historic identity.
He also called on the Muslim countries to support the Jerusalemites' steadfastness on their soil, and lauded their stance to reject all sorts of compromises.
