Temperatures to as depression moves through Kingdom
AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) forecast a slight in temperatures for today, with cold weather conditions prevailing in most areas and pleasant in the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley with clouds at low altitudes.
In the afternoon, the country will be affected by a wet and cold air mass accompanied by a depression, bringing cloudy skies, heavy rain and thunderstorm in the northern and central regions, which may lead to flooding in valleys and low-lying areas, the JMD added.
Winds will be southwesterly moderate, picking up at times and stirring dust in the southern and eastern regions.
Another dip in temperatures is forecast on Friday, as the impact of the cold air mass deepen, with cold, cloudy weather conditions and a chance for scattered showers in the northern parts of the Kingdom.
On Saturday, mercury levels are expected to slightly rise, but similar cold weather will continue to prevail nationwide, with low-altitude clouds and southwesterly moderate winds, according to the department.
Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 14 degrees Celsius in Amman and the northern cities and 13 in the southern governorates, dropping down to 8 and 7 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs jumping to 26 degrees and lows sliding to 14, the JMD added.
