Jordan's decision to waive residency prerequisite on Iraqi students lauded, says envoy
AMMONNEWS - The Iraqi Embassy here has expressed its appreciation to Jordan's decision to waive the annual residency prerequisite imposed on Iraqi students.
In a press statement put out on Wednesday, the Iraqi ambassador to the Kingdom, Haider Al-Athari, said the Jordanian Interior Ministry's decision to the annual residency requirement would enable hundreds of Iraqi students to attend public and private schools.
He also expressed thanks to Jordan's 'great and continuous' support to Iraq, and its decision to exempt the Iraqi students from the residency requirement.
This step, he noted, comes within the framework of the two countries' efforts to enhance partnership and cooperation in a manner that serves the common interests.
