Jordan , Egypt, Pakistan conclude 'first of a kind' Dawn of East 1 military drills
AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian , Egyptian and Pakistani militaries concluded an exercise Sunday in Pakistan codenamed Fajr Al-Sharq 1 (“Dawn of the East 1”), Egypt's Armed Forces spokesman said.
The two-week drills saw the participation of Egyptian, Pakistani, and Jordanian special forces, along with representatives of several other countries as observers.
In October, Egyptian paratroopers arrived in the Pakistani capital Islamabad to participate in the joint exercise.
The exercise involved training explosives as well as medical aid operations.
A conference was held between participating forces on achieving integration, contributing to the standardisation of operational concepts to carry out joint operations accurately and efficiently.
The drills covered typical and non-typical events, in addition to training in counter-terrorism.
The training represents a quantum leap for military relations between Egypt and Pakistan, as it is the first of its kind.
