Safadi to participate in 18th Non-Aligned Movement summit
AMMONNEWS - Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, will head the Kingdom's delegation to the 18th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which will be hosted by the Azerbaijani capital Baku between 25-26 October.
The summit, which will be held under the theme 'Upholding the Bandung Principles to ensure concerted and adequate response to the challenges of the contemporary world,' will adopt three documents: the final declaration, the Baku Declaration and a declaration on Palestine.
Jordan is a founding member of the NAM, whose principles were inspired from the Bandung Conference in 1955, where the Kingdom was among the 29 participating countries that formulated the general principles of the movement.
The movement includes some 120 member states, in addition to 17 observer states and 10 regional and international observer organizations.
