Drop in temps forecast Thursday, pleasant weather over weekend
AMMONNEWS - A slight in temperatures is expected on Thursday, as partly cloudy and rainy weather will prevail across the country with southwesterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia regions, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
Heavy rain is also expected accompanied by thunder and lightning at times, causing flashfloods in valleys and low-lying areas, the JMD said, adding that clouds will gradually decrease at night as the weather will start to stabilize.
A further in mercury levels is forecast on Friday, but pleasant weather will prevail until Saturday in the hilly areas and plains, while it will be moderate in other parts of the Kingdom with clouds at various altitudes and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD noted.
Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 28 degrees Celsius in Amman, 31 in the northern cities and 23 in the southern governorates, dropping down at night to 17, 21and 13 degrees respectively. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 37 degrees and lows standing at 26 at night, the JMD further said.
