FM discusses Palestinian issue with UN Coordinator
AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi met in New York Saturday with United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nikolay Mladenov.
They reviewed developments related to the Palestinian issue during the meeting, which took place after Mladenov briefed a special Security Council session on the situation in occupied Palestine and the challenges facing peace efforts.
Safadi told the council that occupation and violation of Palestinian rights do not make peace, and called for urgent and effective international action to stop the Israeli breaches of the international legitimacy and move to resolve the conflict on the basis of a two-state solution that fulfills all Palestinian rights, foremost of which is the right to freedom and statehood.
