AMMONNEWS - Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker affirmed his country's commitment to Jordan's stability and the economic prosperity of the Jordanian people.
In a statement put out by the US embassy in Amman on Thursday, Schenker, who is currently here for his first official visit, said:'It’s a pleasure to return to Jordan as a diplomat and see for myself the strength of a strategic partnership that goes back over seven decades. The United States and the American people are committed to the stability of Jordan and economic prosperity for the Jordanian people.'
Assistant Secretary Schenker’s regional visit also includes stops in Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Lebanon for discussions on security and economic issues with government and civil society leaders.
During his trip, Assistant Secretary Schenker is emphasizing the importance of the bilateral relationships and underscoring the United States’ deep commitment to continue working with our partners and allies in the region toward stability in the Middle East and North Africa, the statement pointed out.
