Al-Saket calls for Jordanian-Iraqi-Egyptian partnerships in reconstruction projects
AMMONNEWS - The founder and ex-president of the Federation of Arab Contractors Union, Awni Al-Saket, called for forming partnerships and clusters between Jordan, Iraq and Egypt on reconstruction projects in Iraq.
Jordan is a starting point for Iraq's reconstruction activities, Al-Saket said Saturday statement, indicating that the Kingdom constitutes an economic and strategic depth for Iraq, while Iraq is an economic and strategic depth for Jordan.
He added that Jordan and Iraq should continue to facilitate the work, the transition and easy flow products and industries for both countries.
He pointed out that building and construction activities account for about 60 percent of the total development investments, as well as providing employment for more than 15 percent of the active labor force, noting that every billion dollars spent in building and construction provides more than 50,000 jobs.
