Jordanian engineers in Kazakhstan well, says foreign ministry
AMMONNEWS - The Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sufian Qudah, said the ministry's operations center is continuously following up on the attack on a group of engineers, including Jordanians, working with the Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) in Nurstlan (Astana), Republic of Kazakhstan.
Our ambassador in Kazakhstan, since the news of the attack on a CCC camp in Tengiz city, about 2200 km away from the capital, Nurstlan, has officially requested the Kazakh competent authorities to take all necessary measures to provide immediate security protection for the Jordanian citizens there, Qudah announced.
Qudah noted the Kazakh authorities there responded to the request of the Jordanian embassy, adding the situation is now under the control of security agencies, as all citizens were moved to the Atyrau area near the province's center.
Qudah said the Jordanians working in the area there are 'fine,' and some suffered minor injuries, who received the necessary health care, adding the embassy there continues to communicate with all Jordanians to check on their condition and secure their needs.
