Drop in temps with rainfall forecast for three days
AMMONNEWS - A slight in temperatures is expected on Sunday creating partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a chance for local showers and northeasterly moderate to brisk winds at times, according to Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder are also expected in the eastern areas of the Kingdom with flash floods in low lying areas, the JMD said.
A further in mercury levels is forecast on Monday. Therefore, partly cold and cloudy weather will prevail with a chance for scattered rain at times. Heavy rain is also forecast in the southern regions with flash floods in low lying areas and valleys. Winds will be westerly to northwesterly moderate to brisk at times, the department added.
On Tuesday, similar weather conditions will continue to prevail with scattered showers at times in various parts of the country, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD noted.
Daytime temperature for today will reach 20 degrees Celsius in Amman, 23 in the northern areas and 17 in the southern governorates, dropping down to 9 degrees at night in the capital and 10 in other cities. It will be warmer in the Gulf of Aqaba as maximum temperatures will reach 30 degrees sliding down to 22 degrees.
