AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday, received Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland during which he reviewed with her Jordanian-Canadian ties as well as the latest developments in the Middle East.
During the meeting, the King and the Canadian minister agreed to expand joint cooperation in various fields.
His Majesty expressed appreciation for the support provided by Canada to Jordan to implement a number of development projects.
The meeting also dealt with the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, where His Majesty stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to reach a just and permanent peace based on the two-state solution leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The King also reviewed with the Canadian minister regional crises, efforts to reach political solutions to them in addition to regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach.
The Canadian minister stressed her country's keenness to strengthen friendly ties between the two countries and continue coordination and consultations on issues of common interest.
She also expressed her country's appreciation for the humanitarian role carried out by Jordan towards Syrian refugees.
