Depression forecast to bring rain across Kingdom over weekend
AMMONNEWS - The Kingdom on Thursday, will be affected by a wet and relatively cold air mass accompanied by depression centered over the northwest of Cyprus, bringing rain starting from the northern regions and extending to other parts of the country, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
Heavy rain accompanied with thunder and lightening are also expected, causing floods in valleys and lowlands, while winds will be westerly brisk with strong gust stirring dust in the southern and eastern areas, the JMD said.
Mercury levels will further on Friday, creating relatively cold conditions with partly cloudy skies and light winds across many parts of the Kingdom.
At night, winds will be southwesterly light, with fog formation over the highlands, the JMD added.
A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Saturday, but it will remain relatively cold in Amman, the hilly areas and moderate in other regions.
Daytime temperatures forecast for today in Amman and the northern cities will hover around 24 degrees Celsius dropping down at night to 15 in both areas. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 32 degrees and lows standing at 22, the JMD said .
