PM forms delegation to discuss Jordan Universal Periodic Review
AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz on Sunday decided to form an official delegation to discuss Jordan's 3rd Universal Periodic Review (UPR) report for human rights that will be presented in Geneva later this year.
The team will be headed by Government Coordinator for Human Rights Basel Tarawneh.
Minister of State for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson, Jumana Ghneimat, said the purpose of the composition of the team is to look into Jordan UPR report before the Human Rights Council in Switzerland in November 2018, to demonstrate the Kingdom's commitment to improving and enhancing the human rights system.
The delegation comprises Permanent Mission of Jordan to the United Nations Office in Geneva, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Justice, security apparatuses, Chief Justice Department, the Jordanian National Commission for Women, judicial authority, and civil community organizations.
