AMMONNEWS - The security agencies arrested two people who assaulted traffic police while on duty yesterday.
Spokesman of the Public Security Department (PSD) Lt. Colonel Amer Al Sartawi said that during the course of their official duty in one of the areas of northern Amman yesterday, a wedding motorcade passed in front of the traffic police closing the road, and when the traffic police took plate numbers of the vehicles in the motorcade in preparation for the necessary action against them, a group of drivers attacked and beat them.
The spokesman said that two people who attacked the policemen were arrested, noting that search is underway for others involved in the incident to bring them to justice.
He said that attacks on policemen while on duty will not be tolerated, adding that the stiffest penalties will be issued for the attackers.
