Hot air mass forecast to push temperatures above average
AMMONNEWS - A hot air mass is expected to start affecting the Kingdom on Wednesday, pushing temperatures 3-4 degrees Celsius above their annual average and bringing hot conditions across many parts of the country, the Jordan Meteorological Department(JMD) said.
Daytime temperatures expected today in Amman and the northern cities will hover around 36 degrees Celsius dropping to 25 and 24 respectively, while mercury levels in the southern governorates will range between a range of 33 and 18.The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 44 degrees and lows standing at 31, the JMD added.
Mercury levels are forecast to few degrees, moving back to their seasonal levels and creating normal simmer conditions in many parts of the country, with westerly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD added.
Similar weather conditions will continue to prevail on Friday in the hilly areas and the eastern plains, while it will be hot in the desert region, the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
